The latest accolade for One Family saw us selected as the Humanitarian Partner of the 10th Bosphorus Summit, a groundbreaking event that unites key players in world economics and globalisation.
Held in Istanbul at the Palace Kempinski in November 2019, the summit brought together more than 3,000 participants, including heads of states and governments, ministers and businessmen from 80 countries. Discussions focused on the vast challenges facing global trade and the ways of ensuring successful cooperation between countries.
During the event, One Family Chairman Sharif Banna featured as a guest panellist in a talk titled, ‘The New Dynamics and Global Trends of Forced Migration’. He was joined by a host of eminent speakers, including contemporary Turkish artist Halil Altindere, founder of the UK’s Oxford Research Group Dr. Scilla Elworthy, and Prof. Dr. Murat Erdoğan from the Turkish German University. In addition, UNHCR Representative Katharina Lumpp took part, as well as Muhammed Ahmed Faris, an astronaut and activist who is now a Syrian Refugee. Genocide survivor and founder of Saferefugerwanda Marie Christine Nibagwire completed the line-up.
