A dynamic new collaboration to support displaced people has been proudly launched by Awakening, in April 2018.
Moving towards global health goals, the radical innovation and funding partnership with the Global Fund and Human Crescent was unveiled at the prestigious Malaria Summit held in London recently. The exciting venture was announced by Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund – which seeks to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
Held as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018, the Malaria Summit was attended by influential global figures – including 14 heads of state and government members, Bill Gates, HRH Prince of Wales, the UK’s International Development secretary, plus scientists and private sector representatives.
The partnership represents a collective aim to increase support for displaced people. Human Crescent, which was created by Awakening and Finocracy, is a crowdfunding technology platform committed to accelerating Muslim philanthropy through collective, accountable giving online. In its inaugural year, it will support improved healthcare for displaced people, which includes the vital step of tackling malaria.
Meanwhile, One Family – the digital-first and technology-driven social impact venture which was established by Awakening last year – will also work towards positively impacting one million displaced people through Human Crescent’s campaign.
