Wednesday 21st May 2020 — Reckitt Benckiser (RB), producer of health, hygiene and home products including E45, Lemlift, and Scholl have contributed over 75,000 units of products for the creation of One Family’s 10,000 ‘Frontline Care Box’ scheme.

The care boxes, conceptualised by junior doctor Marissa Lewis, aim to provide a little respite to medical staff, who continue to work tirelessly during this unprecedented crisis. Each box contains revitalising essentials, including an eye mask, socks, ear plugs, lip balm, mouthwash, glucose tablets, energy-boosting sweet treats and an assortment of other refreshments.

RB’s contribution includes high-grade hand moisturisers from E45, Lemlift Vitamin C and Zinc tablets that contribute to the normal function of the immune system, and a range of Scholl products including foot cream, foot mask and gel insoles for comfort.

Susan Egstrand, Regional General Manager Northern Europe; UK & Ireland at RB, said: “In addition to a previous donation dedicated to front line health workers whereby we created 150,000 Dettol care packages to NHS we are proud to now donate to OneFamily with E45, Lemlift and Scholl products. Providing NHS heroes with extra support at this time of need we hope these packages go a small way to give key workers some relief to their day to day life. We want to extend our warmest and heartfelt thanks to all those who are working exceptionally long hours under extremely challenging circumstances to protect the nation.”

One Family’s ‘Frontline Care Boxes’ have so far been delivered to Milton Keynes, St James’s in Leeds, Chelsea & Westminster, Darent Valley, Queen’s Hospital in Romford, St Thomas’, Homerton, Croydon and Northwick Park – two of London’s worst-hit hospitals. The UK charity aims to roll out the scheme nationwide over the coming weeks, with more than 10,000 boxes pledged across the country.

“Our Emergency Care Fund was created to provide support where it is really needed,” said One Family Chairman, Sharif Banna MBE. “We have been overwhelmed by the interest and support of major brands to help provide some respite to medical staff across the country. We’re delighted to have RB contributing for our Emergency Care Fund.”
One Family’s Emergency Care Fund has taken a targeted approach to the developing crisis, by prioritising five key focus areas: care boxes for frontline staff; 3D printing for the development of essential PPE; food and grocery packs for vulnerable families; supplying tablets to care homes to ensure the elderly are remaining connected with loved ones; and supporting vital research.
